2004 Lake Champlain Trip

Instead of our normal annual trip to Smallwood State Park on the Potomac River, for our 2004 June trip we decided to go to Lake Champlain for the first time.  We camped at Bullwaga Bay, north of Ticonderoga, NY.  Although the wind kicked up on a few of the days, the fishing was great in both quantity and quality.  Because the boater in one of our usual groups had to be away on a business trip, only the Bill Duckardt/Dennis Snyder group and the Fred Lentz/Rick Lentz group participated.  The Lentz brothers had their trolling motor break halfway through the trip, which limited their ability to fish effectively.  The only competition held was a lunker contest on the final day, which was won by Bill Duckardt with a 4 lb 5 oz bass.
