2004

October 29-30, Lewis Smith Lake, AL, Wild Card:  BOATER: Mike Miller fished this "wild card" tourney in an attempt to qualify for the BFL's All-American tournament.  In a very tough tournament for everyone, Mike weighed in two bass (both on the second day) for 1 lb 15 oz, finishing in 206th place out of 314 boaters.

August 21, 1000 Islands, NY, Northeast Division:  BOATERS: Bill Duckardt had a five bass limit for 10 lbs 11 oz and finished in a tie for 81st place. Mike Miller Sr weighed in two bass for 3 lbs 4 oz and finished in 159th place.  CO-ANGLERS: Mike Miller Jr, fishing his first BFL tourney, brought in three keepers for 7 lbs 5 oz and finished in 75th place. Dennis Snyder had one bass for 2 lbs 5 oz and finished in a tie for 148th place.

July 31, Cayuga Lake, NY, Northeast Division:  BOATERS: Bill Duckardt launching from the first starting position this time, weighed in a five-bass limit for 11 lbs and took 21st place, earning a $280 check. June 5, Potomac River, MD, Northeast Division:  BOATERS: Mike Miller Sr didn't manage to bring any keepers to the scales, finishing in a tie with many others for 117th place. Bill Duckardt didn't get to fish because the co-angler he signed up with backed out of the tournament.

May 8, Potomac River, VA, Shenandoah Division: BOATERS: Bill Duckardt and Mike Miller Sr.  CO-ANGLERS: Fred Lentz and Ken Merlock.  All of them got skunked on a pretty tough day of fishing on which almost 160 of the 400 fishermen didn't weigh in any keepers and over 100 only weighed in one bass.

2003
West Point Lake, AL, November 7 & 8:  (BFL Wildcard tournament) - Mike Miller Sr entered this tournament as a non-boater in an attempt to gain entry to the BFL's championship tournament, The All American.  On Day 1, he weighed in three bass for 5 lbs 8 oz.  On a day when few big fish were brought to the scales, that put him in 12th place out of 307 co-anglers. On Day 2 (after helping his boater fix some electrical problems), Mike weighed in three bass for 3 lbs 9 oz.  His 9 lb 1 oz total put him in 10th place for the tournament, just four places (six ounces) out of qualifying for the BFL All American championship tournament.  He did, however, pick up a nice $681 paycheck.

Cayuga Lake, NY, September 20 & 21:  On Day 1 Bill Duckardt, fishing as a boater, weighed in three bass for 6 lbs 4 oz.  Being in 80th place he did not make the top 25 cut for Day 2.  Mike Miller Sr, fishing as a co-angler, weighed in four bass for 8 lbs 2 oz which put him in 24th place and allowed him to make the cut for Day 2.  On Day 2, Mike Miller Sr weighed in five bass for 14 lbs 6 oz -- the 2nd heaviest bag of the day!  That earned him 6th place (of 126 co-anglers) and a $553 paycheck.
In the final season point standings for the Northeast Division, Duck finished in 49th place out of 273 boaters and Mike finished in 33rd place out of 262 co-anglers.  The top 30 in each category automatically advance to the regional championships, so our two guys came very close.  (As full time participants in the Northeast Division, they both still have the option of entering the "wild card regional" tournament.)

Thousand Islands, NY, September 6:  Bill Duckardt, fishing as a boater, weighed in a five-bass limit for 12 lbs 12 oz to finish in 36th place out of 157 boaters.  After this tournament, Duck stood in 47th place in the tour point standings (out of 265 boaters) with one event to go.   Mike Miller Sr weighed in one bass for 2 lbs 11 oz to finish in 106th place out of 159 co-anglers.  After this tournament, Mike stood in 51st place in the tour point standings (out of 255 co-anglers).

Cayuga Lake, NY, August 2Bill Duckardt fished as a boater and weighed in three bass for 6 lbs 1 oz.  He finished in 104th place out of 202 boaters.  Mike Miller Sr fished as a co-angler.  He weighed in four bass for 7 lbs 2 oz and finished in 40th place out of 198 co-anglers.

Lake Champlain, NY, July 12:  Bill Duckardt fished as a boater and weighed in a five bass limit for 10 lbs 11 oz, including a nice smallie.  He finished in 42nd place out of 200 boaters. Mike Miller Sr fished as a co-angler and weighed in one bass for 1 lb 8 oz.  He finished in a tie for 141st place among 200 co-anglers.  It was also reported that Mike had an interesting boat ride in the somewhat rough lake conditions.  Ask him about it.

Potomac River, VA, June 7:  Bill Duckardt fished this Northeast Division tournament as a Boater and weighed in two bass for 4 lbs 14 oz.  On a day when a lot of fish were brought in that was only good for 127th place.  Mike Miller Sr fished in the Co-Angler division and weighed in three bass for 8 lbs 7 oz.  That put him in 42nd place out of 199 co-anglers.

Potomac River, VA, April 26:  At this Shenandoah Division tournament, Bill Duckardt fished as a Boater for the first time.  He weighed in three bass for 6 lbs 13 oz and finished in 84th place out of 201 Boaters. Fred Lentz fished for the first time as a Co-Angler and weighed in one bass for 2 lbs 6 oz to finish in 98th place out of 199 co-anglers.

2002
Cayuga Lake, NY, September 14 & 15Bill Duckardt fished this tournament in the Co-Angler division.  Unfortunately, he didn't get any keepers on Day 1 and wasn't able to advance to the second day of this two-day "Super Tournament".  He finished the BFL season in 69th place in the Northeast Division standings (of 254 anglers).

Lake Champlain, NY, August 24: Bill Duckardt fished this tournament in the Co-Angler division.  He caught a five-bass limit for 7 lbs 8 oz and finished in a respectable 35th place out of 150 co-anglers.  The boater he was paired with only weighed in 4 bass for 5 lbs, finishing in 112th place.  After this tournament, Duck was sitting in 43rd place in the BFL's Northeast Division standings (one of the Potomac tournaments he placed well in was in the Shenandoah Division).

Cayuga Lake, NY, August 3: Bill Duckardt and Mike Miller Sr both fished this tournament in the Co-Angler division.  Duck got four bass for 7 lbs 4 oz (after an 8 oz dead fish penalty) and finished in 69th place on a day when a lot of heavy limits were brought in.  Mike got two bass for 3+ lbs, but elected not to weigh them in (ask him about it).

Potomac River, MD, June 1:  Bill Duckardt and Mike Wright both fished this tournament in the Co-Angler (non-boater) division.  Duck got paired with a boater who was on fish and Bill got three bass early.  The bad news is that that was it for the day; the good news is that they were good fish (for a total of 9 lbs 4 oz, including a 3 lb 13 oz hawg) and Duck finished in the money (15th place).  His partner had a limit.  Mike also got paired with a boater who was on fish (and who got a limit).  Unfortunately, Mike was only able to pick up one keeper, which he didn't bother to weigh in.  Apparently, Mike has an interesting story to tell about the speed at which his partner operated his boat going up and down the Potomac River.  (Mike may have left a brown stain in the guy's passenger seat.)

Potomac River, VA, May 11:  Bill Duckardt fished this tournament trail's event that launched from Leesylvania Park in Virginia.  Duck entered as a non-boater.  He weighed in 4 bass for 8 lbs 8 oz.  That was good enough to finish in 14th place and take a $209 check.  His first paycheck on the BFL trail (in only his third event).  Congratulations Duck!
